Prices continue to rise across all types \/ Triple-digit premiums in some cases \/ Reluctance to buy among processors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The war in the Middle East finally turned the buyer’s market into a seller’s market. Producers were able to enforce significant parts of their mark-up demands across all types. Exceptions such as direct and assembled rovings confirmed the rule. <\/p>\n\n

On the supply side, individual specialty products became scarce and were no longer available. This was due to the reduced production in Europe and the lack of imports. The shortage of aggregates also forced some producers to reduce their production. <\/p>\n\n

Substantial price increases have already been announced for the new month. Implementation will only be difficult if imports are significantly more plentiful. However, the precarious financial situation of processors will continue to force them to exercise caution and only buy what is absolutely necessary. Simple economic necessity is currently replacing strategic sourcing decisions. <\/p>\n\n

Substantial price increases have already been announced for the coming month as well. Producers will only have difficulty in pushing through these hikes if the inflow of imports increases significantly. The converters’ precarious financial situation, however, means they have to remain cautious and will only purchase what is absolutely necessary. At the moment, sheer economic necessity is taking precedence over strategic sourcing decisions.<\/p>\n\n
