Successful flame retardancy conference in Berlin: Flame Retardancy for Composite Applications in the Transport Sector
On 10-11 May 2023, AVK held its first specialist conference on the topic of flame retardancy.
Components made of fibre-reinforced plastics/composites, which are manufactured for the transport sector, often have to have specific flame retardancy properties. In 18 compact lectures, more than 20 experts informed almost 80 participants about new developments, requirements and innovations in this field. Presentations by industry representatives from Saertex, BÜFA, Clariant, Diehl Aviation and Airbus, but also from institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institutes and the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing provided information with talks on standardisation, raw materials, automotive or recycling, but also on flame retardants for connectors and battery housings for electric vehicles or fire-retardant systems for rail vehicles and fire-retardant CFRP made from recycled CF nonwovens were on the agenda.
