Sustainability is not only a key challenge for society as a whole and a necessity, but also offers enormous opportunities, especially for composites. In many applications, they have clear advantages over other construction materials in terms of LCA. Even if the recycling of end-of-life products is only the last step in a whole chain of measures and opportunities, this point is still extremely important. The aim must be to keep all materials in the material cycle for as long as possible and, if necessary, to recycle them as profitably as possible.
Our working group deals with precisely this topic. Together with our experts, we are working to record existing options and pool information in order to provide the best possible overview of the options already available today. One result of this collaboration is the AVK recycling study, for example.
Composites are not only a very sustainable construction solution in many cases, there are also numerous recycling routes. Together, we are looking for new possibilities and pooling existing knowledge in order to make it available to as many stakeholders and interested parties as possible.
