Environmental protection and occupational safety are essential components of the responsible manufacture and processing of fiber-reinforced plastics. When handling resins, hardeners, glass fibers, and glass fiber systems, as well as other ingredients and chemical components, legal requirements, regulations, and occupational exposure limits apply to ensure the safe handling of these substances. Through appropriate protective measures, modern plant technology, and trained employees, these requirements can be reliably met and a safe working environment created. In addition, there are numerous regulations that must generally be observed during product manufacturing. At the same time, innovative materials and lower-emission processes help reduce environmental impact and continuously advance production standards.
The working group’s activities focus on the exchange of information regarding changes to regulations and the legal framework. The experts compile information on changing requirements and present it in a concise format. One of the key outcomes of this collaboration is the AVK Environmental Handbook, which provides a concise summary of the most important standards, regulations, and laws.
