Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the AVK.

Here you will find all the information and documents you need to apply for membership:

What are the benefits of your AVK membership?

You have the opportunity to take advantage of the entire range of services that AVK offers its members:

The AVK is the oldest interest group in the plastics industry in Germany. The roots of our association go back to 1924, when the Technische Vereinigung e. V. was founded. In 1959, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Verstärkte Kunststoffe e. V. was founded.

The two organizations finally merged in 1998 to form AVK-TV, which has been operating under the name AVK – Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e. V. since 2005.

With more than 230 national (Germany) and international member companies, the AVK is one of the largest associations in the composites sector in Europe.

Its members include raw material producers and suppliers as well as processors, mechanical engineers, engineering offices, testing laboratories and scientific institutes. Together with small and medium-sized partners, the large, internationally active member companies cover the entire value chain in the field of reinforced plastics.

The tasks and objectives of the AVK can be divided into five central areas:

  • Image building
  • Promotion of innovation
  • Further training
  • Strengthening sustainability
  • Networking

We want to provide our members with practical support through a wide range of services. Our services include the representation of interests in politics and the media as well as public relations work. Through our communication work, we want to make decision-makers and citizens aware of the concerns, goals and tasks of the AVK and its members.

We maintain close contact with government agencies at state, federal and EU level, so that suggestions for more practical regulations can be introduced into the legislative process via the AVK. Our members receive all the latest information on existing and new regulations and participate in DIN and CEN committees with voting rights.

Our members can get involved in specialist working groups. They develop solutions for key issues in the industry. Working group members benefit directly from new contacts. The working groups impart extensive, additional knowledge that flows directly into the companies. In addition, joint marketing activities are planned and implemented in the working groups.

AVK members receive regular newsletters with the latest industry and association news. We also take part in trade fairs and industry events and organize seminars, conferences and congresses. The area of further education and training is particularly important to AVK. Our specialist seminars are developed in collaboration with users, experts and scientific institutes.

The market reports, studies and press articles published regularly by the AVK, in which the latest technologies, developments and trends are discussed, are of great importance to our members and the market. Members receive exclusive, detailed information on market trends, cost developments and innovations in the areas of raw materials and manufacturing.

We also support our members with company-specific services, such as consulting services and research, contact referrals and various in-house services.

National and international networking is one of our most important tasks. AVK is part of a strong network and a founding member of Composites Germany. The AVK is also one of the four supporting associations of the GKV (General Association of the Plastics Processing Industry) and a member of the EuCIA (European Composites Industry Association).
