Circular composites – easier to recycle when combined

18. June

Industry meets Fraunhofer CCPE

The Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy CCPE invites representatives of the polymer industry to the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT in Pfinztal on Thursday, June 18, 2026 as part of its “Industry meets Fraunhofer CCPE” event series.

Fiber-reinforced plastics play a key role on the path to a circular economy. A central challenge here is how high-performance composite materials can be designed in future so that they are easier to recycle and contribute to closing material and bio cycles.

The organizers will present the latest results from application-oriented research and practical solutions for companies. The focus will be on self-reinforced thermoplastics, mono-material construction methods and bio-based FRPs and their potential for sustainable applications.

At the same time, the event will shed light on recycling technologies for FRPs and their individual components and discuss the use of recyclates in new applications.

You can look forward to the exchange between research and industry as well as concrete suggestions for your next steps towards a circular composite economy.
