General Association of the Plastics Processing Industry (GKV)
EPPA Deutschland e. V. – the association of manufacturers of PVC-U window profile systems – has joined the Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie e. V. (GKV) as a further supporting association. This was announced by the associations on the fringes of the general meeting of EPPA Deutschland e.V. on May 14/15, 2025 in Potsdam.
EPPA Deutschland e.V. emerged in 2023 from the Quality Association for Plastic Products (QKE e.V.), which was founded in 1963 with the task of forming quality associations that prove the long-term usability and durability of plastic products by means of RAL quality assurance and bear the RAL quality mark for this.
In addition to application areas such as packaging, durable plastic products, reusable systems, fibre-reinforced plastics, polyurethanes and foam plastics, whose industry organizations are already members of the GKV, another sector of the plastics processing industry is now represented in the GKV. “We welcome EPPA Germany to the GKV. Plastic windows are a good example of successful and sustainable plastic products that have been excellently established on the market for decades. With the accession of EPPA Germany, the GKV will be further strengthened as a mouthpiece and industry representative for the plastics processing industry,” says Dr. Helen Fürst, President of the GKV.
“EPPA Germany sees its role as a link to politics, business and society. Complex tasks are easier to solve together: By becoming a member of the GKV, EPPA Germany now has another good platform for bundling cross-sectional issues, coordinating with politicians and other associations and thus arriving at good solutions in the interests of our industry,” says Patrick Seitz, Chairman of EPPA Germany.
