KraussMaffei Extrusion invites you to the Sustainable Extrusion Summit – an industry meeting for the plastics and recycling industry – in Laatzen near Hanover. Visitors can expect an extensive program covering the latest developments in extrusion and recycling technology. The event is divided into two main topics: On March 25 and 26, the focus will be on Pipe & Profile, while March 26 and 27 will be all about recycling. A special highlight is the Technology Center, which sets new standards in extrusion with its unique development and application expertise.
The Technology Center is part of KraussMaffei Extrusion’s new 97,000 m² building complex. “The total of 26 state-of-the-art systems are consistently geared towards technological excellence and sustainability and underline KraussMaffei Extrusion’s role as a leading player in the plastics industry. We will be demonstrating this at the Sustainable Extrusion Summit and are delighted to welcome visitors from all over the world to this event,” says Dr. Thomas Unger, Vice President of Technology, KraussMaffei Extrusion.
The highlights include numerous live demonstrations. Expert rounds and panel discussions also offer participants the opportunity to discuss current developments and trends with industry leaders.
Pipe & Profile (March 25 – 26) – New multilayer pipe systems
The first two days will be dedicated to pipe and profile extrusion. The live demonstrations will showcase high-performance multilayer pipe production with the new pipe head, efficient solutions for PVC pipe production and pelletizing.
Top-class keynote speeches from partners such as Borealis, Kabelwerke Eupen, Baerlocher and Georg Fischer will shed light on trends and global challenges. The focus will also be on digital solutions and advanced control systems that increase efficiency and quality in production.
Recycling (March 26 – 27) – Experience the circular economy live
The focus The focus of the second half of the day and the third day will be on recycling and the circular economy. Visitors can look forward to a premiere during the live demonstrations: for the first time, KraussMaffei Extrusion will be showing its new machine concept for the controlled upcycling of post-consumer plastic waste into high-quality automotive compounds. Another highlight will be the energy-efficient and scalable production of food-safe rPET pellets.
In addition, the entire spectrum of recycling will be highlighted – from mechanical to solvent-based and chemical processes. Expert presentations from industry partners such as PureCycle Technology, Veolia, Lober, Polymetrix and Exxon Mobil as well as from Plastics Europe and leading research institutes such as IKV Aachen and IKK Hannover will provide valuable insights into current developments and trends. The program is complemented by forward-looking technologies such as the use of artificial intelligence in compound development, smart sensor technology for in-line quality monitoring and solutions for cable compounds in an electrified future.
