International symposium on foaming on 04.+05.06.2025
Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute
Although thermoplastic foam injection molding (TSG) has been known for decades, this advanced manufacturing technology has not become established across the board. TSG offers numerous advantages, such as weight savings, more efficient use of materials and increased productivity. However, in view of the current requirements for resource efficiency and sustainability, TSG is experiencing a new upswing.
The Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid is offering a specialist conference on 4 and 5 June 2025, which will focus on thermoplastic foam injection moulding (TSG) and the numerous advantages, including reduced material usage, faster production cycles and more precise components. The event combines theory and practice through live demonstrations in the technical center and presentations and offers an excellent opportunity to find out about the latest developments in the field of TSG and to make valuable contacts. As last year, the presentations will be offered in English to appeal to international participants. Further information and registration:

A particular advantage of foaming is the reduction in melt viscosity, which enables thinner wall thicknesses. In addition, the melt and/or mold wall temperature can be lowered, which has a positive effect on the cycle time. The gas pressure inside the solidifying melt eliminates the need for holding pressure, which offers further advantages on the process side.
TSG makes it possible to reduce the clamping force of the machine or increase the number of cavities, resulting in energy savings and increased productivity. Components can be designed thinner without sink marks or shrinkage cavities. The uniform shrinkage of the components reduces distortion and ensures more precise results.
Negative embossing can be used for applications that require high weight reductions. This technology makes it possible to produce components with the weight of a thin molded part and the rigidity of a thicker geometry.
Leading companies and experts from the field of thermoplasticfoam injection molding(TSG) will be represented at the international symposium, giving interested parties the opportunity to obtain excellent information on the latest developments in the field of TSG and to make valuable contacts.
