General Association of the Plastics Processing Industry (GKV)
The German Plastics Processing Industry Association (GKV) welcomes the conclusion of the coalition negotiations between the CDU, CSU and SPD to form a federal government for the 21st electoral term of the German Bundestag.
“The text of the coalition agreement contains light and shade,” says GKV President Dr. Helen Fürst. “Incentives for investment, the introduction of a corporate tax reform, the abolition of the national supply chain law and measures to limit energy costs are correct and important,” said the President of the umbrella organization of the plastics processing industry. The GKV also supports the agreements on the further development of the circular economy, including the long overdue reform of Section 21 of the Packaging Act and the parties’ commitments on chemicals policy. “If an industrial electricity price is introduced, it must also apply to energy-intensive SMEs. However, what is largely missing from the agreement is a necessary reform of the pension insurance system. Non-wage labor costs must not be allowed to rise any further. In addition, more courage is needed to really reduce bureaucracy in order to get SMEs back on track for growth. The agreement is not enough here,” said Fürst.
