Working Group | Material Properties and Requirements for E-Mobility

Electric mobility places new and demanding requirements on materials. At the same time, the current structural changes in the mobility sector are creating numerous opportunities for new material systems and new applications. Fiber-reinforced plastics offer ideal conditions for this, as they combine lightweight construction with high mechanical strength, extensive design freedom, corrosion resistance, and excellent electrical insulation properties. They are used, among other things, in battery housings, structural components, body components, and thermal management components, and help to increase safety, efficiency, and range. In this way, composite materials make an important contribution to the development of high-performance, sustainable, and future-oriented mobility concepts.

The working group focuses on internal technical exchange and the analysis of potential future applications for composites.
