29th National SAMPE Symposium: Clean Energy and Mobility – Shaping a Sustainable Future with Composite Materials

Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and the Skilled Crafts at RWTH Aachen University

Symposium brings together scientists and experts for sustainable energy generation and the mobility of tomorrow

n April 2 and 3, 2025, SAMPE Germany cordially invites you to the 29th national SAMPE Symposium – the annual meeting place for experts from research and industry in the field of composite materials. Under the motto “Clean Energy and Mobility: Shaping a Sustainable Future with Composite Materials”, this year’s symposium will focus on advances in composite processing, especially with regard to sustainable energy generation and the mobility of tomorrow, and is organized by IKV and RWTH Aachen University. The SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering) is a leading international organization with over 5,000 members of engineers, technologists and scientists. The aim of SAMPE is to exchange technical knowledge, promote young talent and maintain international networks.

The symposium offers a series of sessions that will shed light on various topics from different perspectives. Highlights include presentations on hydrogen as the energy source of the future, vitrimers, production systems, innovative fiber materials, mobility solutions and future developments and potential in aviation. In addition, fiber composites will be discussed as a key enabler of renewable energies.

A special attraction on the agenda are the guided tours of the Melaten Campus, which offer insights into the work of leading institutes such as IKV, ITA, ika, AZL, WZL, SLA and CWD. Here, conference participants will have the opportunity to experience current research projects and innovative technological developments at first hand.

As part of the symposium, the SAMPE Innovation Award will also be presented for outstanding scientific master’s and doctoral theses that deal with innovative material applications and new manufacturing processes. This award offers young talents the opportunity to present their research to a broad specialist audience and make important contacts in the industry.

Throughout the symposium, research institutions and companies will have the opportunity to present their products and solutions at the table-top exhibition in the auditorium of the RWTH main building.

Our team will be happy to provide you with further information and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to your participation!
