Six innovative technologies present the future of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) at the CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals Conference 2025

The prestigious “Best CO2 Utilization 2025” innovation award focuses on pioneering technologies and products that make effective use of CO2. This year, six nominees are presenting their pioneering developments in the field of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) for various industries.

The selected innovations are characterized by significant progress in the following areas: innovative CO2 capture and electrolysis systems, sustainable polyurethane technologies, the production of green methanol, as well as processes for the production of high-quality carbon materials such as graphite and carbon nanotubes from CO2 emissions.

The award ceremony is one of the highlights of the 13th CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals Conference, which will take place in Cologne from April 29 to 30, 2025. This hybrid event is the leading forum for the CCU and Power-to-X industries and brings together over 250 experts from industry, science and politics to discuss innovative developments in the fields of CO2 capture, green hydrogen production, CO2-based chemicals, materials and fuels.

This year’s conference will focus in particular on the long-term supply of CO2 to the CCU industry through biogenic CO2 sources, efficient carbon capture technologies and the continuous supply of renewable hydrogen. A wide range of technologies for the utilization of CO2 and CO2-based products will also be presented.
