Following the success of the first two events, the third edition of the symposium on flame retardancy will now take place in Berlin on 18-19 November 2026, organized by the AVK – Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e.V. in cooperation with the FGK – Forschungsgesellschaft Kunststoffe e.V.
The focus of the event is on construction/infrastructure and mobility applications.
Components made from fiber-reinforced plastics/composites that are manufactured for these sectors often have to have specific flame-retardant properties.
Over the course of one and a half days, 15 compact presentations will provide information on new developments, requirements and innovations in the fields of material and process development, public transport, sustainability/recycling, construction/infrastructure, mobility, standardization and testing.
The diverse presentation titles range from new possibilities with graphite in halogen-free flame retardants to environmentally friendly flame retardants for natural fibers and innovative applications in local public transport.
16 experts from industry representatives such as Ensinger Composites Schweiz GmbH, Polynt GmbH or Schill+Seilacher “Struktol” GmbH as well as from institutes such as the Wehrwissenschaftliches Institut für Werk- und Betriebsstoffe and the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) will pass on their knowledge.
The conference program is now available. Registration for the event is now open.
The event will be held in English.
