ECO.MATERIALScon 2025 – It doesn’t get any greener than this!
Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute
The plastics industry is undergoing radical change and faces the challenge of implementing sustainable product solutions in all areas. However, there is not always a universal solution. The path to sustainability is as varied and complex as plastic products often are. In particular, the targeted use of materials offers great potential for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with products. The ECO.MATERIALScon focus days, including a trade exhibition, will provide fascinating insights into innovative and environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional plastics on June 11 and 12, 2025.
On June 11 and 12, 2025, Nature Compound will open the doors of its production facility in Schwerte (North Rhine-Westphalia) and provide the local setting for exciting focus days with inspiring keynote speeches and an accompanying trade exhibition. The event will kick off with a focus on bioplastics. Renowned speakers from the Institute for Bioplastics and Biocomposites (IfBB) at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute will present the latest findings on the synthesis, use and prospects of plastics made from renewable raw materials against the backdrop of optimizing theCO2 footprint. As BIOVOX GmbH shows, even medical grade plastics with their high demands on quality and material safety are not excluded from current sustainability goals. In addition, companies such as GreenFoilNature will be demonstrating which alternative material solutions, such as those based on algae, will be used in the future. The second day focuses on the core topic of the circular economy and offers a program that ranges from the recycling of different waste streams using new recycling technologies to practical experience reports. The program includes contributions on the processing of recycled materials using additives (EVONIK) and the production of high-quality technical recompounds by AURORA Kunststoffe.CO2 reduction is a cross-sectional topic that runs along individual paths throughout the entire chemical industry. In this network of possibilities, you too can find your way to climate neutrality with Carbon Minds.
In addition to the specialist presentations and the exhibition, participants will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of Nature Compound production. At the same time, they will benefit from an intensive exchange of experiences with various players in the circular economy. Fresh perspectives and innovative approaches will inspire participants to make their own products more sustainable and future-oriented.
