Company description:
The DITF is the largest textile research center in Europe with more than 250 scientific and technical employees. We are the only textile research facility in the world to cover the entire production and value chain of textiles on an area of over 25,000 m². Since 1921, we have covered all important textile topics. We are one of the world’s leading research institutes in our fields of work.
We conduct application-oriented research across the entire textile production chain. With product- and technology-oriented innovations and modern management concepts, we contribute to the competitiveness of the German and European economy and to securing its future.
From brainstorming to materials research, the development of prototypes and production processes, pilot production and testing, we are an important R&D partner for industry and service companies. We are an important supplier of innovative know-how, especially for small and medium-sized companies without their own R&D department.
We quickly transfer sustainable research results into commercial exploitation and application. The most important goal is to translate scientific findings into market-ready processes, products and services.
Training and further education are among the fundamental tasks of the DITF. The DITF is linked to the University of Stuttgart through three chairs and courses in other subjects. There are also teaching partnerships with other colleges and universities.
