The use of composites is a success story. Since the first applications in the 1920s, fibre-reinforced plastics have become increasingly popular in various industries and are now firmly established in many cases.
The production volume has increased almost continuously worldwide, reaching a volume of 13.5 million tons in 2024. Even in a rather difficult economic environment, growth was still 4% compared to 2023.
However, the largest production regions/countries have only been able to benefit from this growth to very different degrees, especially in recent years.
